Letter from the Mayor: April 2023

Dear Friends and Neighbors of Nixa,

As the Mayor of the City of Nixa, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude to have the honor of serving this incredible community. I am writing this letter to express my heartfelt thanks for the support and trust you have placed in me throughout my time in office. Being able to represent the people of Nixa has truly been the greatest honor of my life, and I am continually humbled by your belief and support of my leadership these last 9 years.

Nixa is a special place, a city where people from all walks of life come together in pursuit of common goals and shared dreams. Our community is one that thrives on the values of hard work, integrity, and mutual respect, which can be seen in every corner of our town. From our outstanding schools and dedicated educators to our thriving businesses and innovative entrepreneurs, Nixa is a shining example of what can be accomplished when we all work together.

Throughout my time as mayor, I have been inspired by the sense of unity that defines our city. Each and every one of you has played an integral role in shaping the fabric of our community, and it has been my privilege to work alongside you in pursuit of a brighter future for Nixa. Your collective passion for our city has made it possible for us to achieve great things, and I am proud of the progress we have made together.

We have invested in our infrastructure, ensuring that our roads, utilities, and park facilities are safe and well-maintained. We have championed initiatives which prioritize transparency and financial accountability, such as our expanded strategic planning programs, responsible and conservative budgeting, and enhanced communication using all channels including this newsletter. By embracing these principles, we have worked to establish trust between the city government and the residents we serve and fostered an environment where our community’s voice is not only heard but valued.

One of our most important endeavors has been to support local businesses, which form the backbone of our community. By fostering a vibrant and diverse local economy, businesses have created new jobs, attracted new investments, and ensured that Nixa remains a thriving place to live, work, and play. Our dedication to nurturing a business-friendly environment has enabled entrepreneurs to grow and flourish, while also offering our residents access to quality goods and services close to home.

These accomplishments are a testament to the collective power of our community, and I am proud to have played a part in their realization. However, I also recognize that our work is far from over. As we continue to grow and evolve, it is essential that we remain committed to the values that have brought us this far. By working together, we can ensure that Nixa remains a place where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

I would be remiss if I did not take a moment to express my appreciation for the incredible team of city employees who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep Nixa running smoothly. Their dedication and professionalism are truly unmatched, and I am grateful for their unwavering commitment to serving our community.

As I reflect on my time as mayor, I am reminded of the countless individuals who have offered their support, guidance, and friendship along the way. To each and every one of you, I offer my deepest gratitude. Your encouragement and counsel have been invaluable in my efforts to lead this remarkable city, and I am honored to call you my fellow Nixans.

In closing, I want to reiterate my profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve as your mayor. Nixa is an extraordinary place, and I have been truly blessed to call this community my home for the last 40 years. Together, we have built a city that we can all be proud to call home, and I am confident that our shared values will continue to guide us toward even greater heights in the years to come.
