Employee Spotlight: Damian Smith

Damian has been a street department utility worker for almost twelve years. In the summer months, he can be seen spraying our rights-of-way for weeds and tall grass or installing and maintaining our street signs. Because of his expertise, he also helps with various construction projects around the city. In 2022, the Department of Transportation mandated that all Commercial Driver’s License applicants must complete an accredited training course before acquiring their Commercial Driver’s License. Damian completed this course and is now the city’s CDL trainer for all new hires that are required to get this license. His willingness to research and implement such ideas make him a valuable member of our team. We are thankful for his dedication over the years!
