UPDATE: Changes have been made to the events mentioned in the letter below. See new event details here.
Dear Nixa Residents,
As we close out another year, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an exceptional year 2024 has been for Nixa. Together, we have achieved significant milestones across many areas, including infrastructure, public services, and community development. Our city, city council, and I have worked tirelessly to finalize a well-balanced budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025. Despite the numerous projects planned for water, sewer, wastewater, stormwater, electric, streets, parks, police, and administration, we managed to budget responsibly. This allows us to increase our reserves and be financially prepared should costs continue to rise in the coming year. I want to extend my biggest thank you to all our amazing city staff, my city council, and the citizens of Nixa for all your help and input this year. You all are what makes Nixa great!
Our focus remains on maintaining and enhancing the quality of life in Nixa, and your continued support is invaluable. I encourage you to join us for the upcoming holiday events that celebrate our wonderful community spirit. Don’t miss the Mayor’s Tree Lighting & Cocoa with the Community on December 6th at 6:00 pm at McCauley Park—a cherished annual event that continues to grow every year for families and friends to come together. And mark your calendars for the Nixa Christmas Parade on December 8th at 2:00 pm, also starting from McCauley Park and following our traditional route through town. This year’s theme is Past to Present – Seven Decades of a Nixa Christmas. So, bring the family out to get a bunch of candy and watch some amazing parade floats.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to making Nixa the best community. Here’s to a joyful holiday season and a prosperous new year ahead.
Sincerely,
Mayor Jarad Giddens
