Letter from the Mayor: January 2025
January 7, 2025
Dear Nixa Residents,
Happy New Year! As we welcome the new year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the opportunities ahead and the goals we aim to achieve together. A new year brings fresh energy and motivation to work on projects that will make our city an even better place to live, work, and thrive.
This year, we are focusing on several key initiatives to enhance our community and improve the services we provide. Among our top priorities is the construction of the new police department building, which will be located north of Highway 14 on Lynn Street. Construction is set to begin this summer, with completion targeted for 2026. This modern facility will provide our officers with enhanced training spaces, improved technology infrastructure, and better resources to serve our growing population of over 25,000 residents.
We are also taking steps to centralize city services at City Hall. This initiative is designed to simplify processes for our citizens, making it more convenient to access the resources and assistance you need. By streamlining operations, we aim to enhance efficiency and better serve you.
Infrastructure improvements remain a very important priority for the city so we can ensure sustainable growth in the future. Stormwater and street projects are critical for maintaining and improving the quality of life in Nixa. These projects address not only immediate concerns but also lay the groundwork for growth in the years to come.
As we work towards these initiatives, I encourage everyone in our community to get involved. You can stay informed by following the City of Nixa on Facebook and signing up for our text alerts at nixa.com/alerts. Whether it’s getting involved in local activities, volunteering, or simply supporting one another, every effort contributes to the strong sense of community that defines Nixa.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Together, we can make 2025 a year of progress and achievement for our city. I look forward to keeping you updated as these projects move forward and to hearing your thoughts and ideas along the way.
Wishing you and your families a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.
Sincerely,
Mayor Jarad Giddens
