Congrats to Nixa Utilities’ MPUA Line-Worker Graduates

Johnny Neal, Jerron Persifull, and Garret Propst successfully completed the Missouri Public Utility Alliance (MPUA) Apprentice Lineman Program. This four-year program includes both classroom curriculum and hands-on training, in addition to the on-the-job training they receive while working with the other members of Nixa Utilities’ crew. Some of the topics covered in this program are:
- Overhead and underground electric systems
- Pole climbing skills and rescue training
- Bucket, digger truck, and equipment operations
- Rubber gloving and PPE
- Underground terminating and splicing
- Transformers: Theory, Connections, & Troubleshooting
- Metering: Theory, Connections, & Troubleshooting
- Personal protective grounding
- Substation theory
- Safety
In addition, Josh Coleman, apprentice line-worker, has passed his third year of the program and is entering his final year in January 2025.
