Letter from the Mayor: April 2024
April 2, 2024
As we step into the blossoming month of April, I am delighted to extend warm greetings to each and every member of our vibrant community. Spring is in full swing, and with it comes a plethora of exciting events and opportunities to celebrate our city’s spirit and vitality.
First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated in NIXPO, our esteemed Nixa Business Expo that is organized by the staff and volunteers at the Nixa Chamber of Commerce. Your enthusiastic support not only underscores our collective commitment to local businesses but also serves as a testament to the strength of our community. The success of NIXPO is a reminder of the incredible talent, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit that thrives within our city.
Moreover, I am thrilled to announce the forthcoming ribbon cutting ceremony for the Christian County Ambulance District’s new Nixa location on April 10th. This significant milestone not only signifies the expansion of essential services within our community but also highlights the dedication of organizations to enhance the well-being of our residents. I encourage each of you to join us for this momentous occasion as we come together to celebrate progress and growth. Ribbon cuttings are open to the public and a great way to get to know the individuals that are investing in our community.
In addition to these noteworthy events, I urge you to mark your calendars for Nixa Sucker Days in May. This cherished tradition provides an excellent opportunity for us to come together, enjoy delightful festivities, and celebrate the hometown spirit of our city. This fun filled event serves as a reminder of the rich heritage and camaraderie that define Nixa.
Furthermore, I encourage you to explore the diverse array of performances scheduled at the AETOS Center for Performing Arts. These shows promise to captivate and inspire audiences of all ages inside the beautiful Meridian Title Company Performance Hall. By supporting our local arts, we not only enrich our cultural landscape but also foster a thriving environment for creativity and expression.
In closing, I extend my deepest gratitude to each of you for your unwavering dedication to our beloved city. Your continued participation in local events not only strengthens our community ties but also nourishes our local economy, ensuring a prosperous future for generations to come. Let us seize the opportunities that lie ahead, united in our commitment to making Nixa a place we are all proud to call home.
Sincerely,
Mayor Jarad Giddens
