Letter from the Mayor: July 2024

I hope you all are enjoying the summer with your family and friends. As we enjoy these sunny days, I am thrilled to share some exciting updates and events happening in our wonderful city.

First, I am delighted to announce the successful reopening of our city pool. After being closed last year due to a leak, we took the opportunity not only to fix the pool but also to implement some much-needed upgrades. The feedback from our community has been overwhelmingly positive. City staff and I are so excited to hear how much everyone is enjoying the improved facilities.

In the coming months, we will begin construction on a new splash pad at McCauley Park. This addition promises to bring even more joy and excitement to our parks, thanks to the diligent efforts of our Parks Department in saving funds for such projects.

I am also thrilled to report on the success of our recent city-wide initiative, One Nixa One Read. This year’s program saw incredible participation and enthusiasm from our residents. I am so thankful to the Nixa Public Schools and the Christian County Library for their invaluable partnership in making this initiative such a success. Programs like these truly exemplify the spirit of community and collaboration that defines Nixa.

As we continue to come together through various events and initiatives, it reaffirms what I love most about our city—the unwavering support and camaraderie among its residents. Whether it’s enjoying our parks, participating in community programs, or simply spending time with family and friends, Nixa remains an amazing place to live because of our caring community.

As your mayor, I am honored to celebrate these moments of unity and growth with all of you. I hope you all are enjoying the summer and making new memories and friends! Let’s continue to support one another in all that we do. That is what makes Nixa great!
