Letter from the Mayor: June 2024

As we move into the vibrant summer season, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the recent achievements of our remarkable high school seniors. The Class of 2024 has graduated, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another for 481 amazing students. This exceptional group has not only excelled academically but has also demonstrated incredible dedication and hard work. Many of our graduates received honors and special awards, and collectively, they have earned over $4.5 million in scholarships. This is a testament to their perseverance, talent, and the support of their families and educators. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them, and we look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future.

During this time of the year, we were also reminded of the significance of Memorial Day, a day that often signals the start of summer. While it is a time for enjoying friends, family, and engaging in festive activities, it is important that we remember its true meaning. Memorial Day is dedicated to honoring the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and selflessness have secured the freedoms we cherish today. Let us take a moment to reflect on their contributions and express our deepest gratitude for their service.

As summer gets into full swing, I wish everyone in our community a season filled with joy, relaxation, and adventure. Whether you are traveling or enjoying local activities, I hope you are able to make amazing memories with friends and family.
