Nixa Seeks Citizen Input Through Virtual Open House & Pop-Up Event

Nixa, MO – The City of Nixa has launched Nixa 2045, a process for planning our growth for the next 20 years and beyond! We are gathering public input for this new comprehensive plan process to help develop a plan that guides the decision-making, development, and infrastructure projects across the community and serves as a road map to visualize where we want to go as a City, and the path to reach that destination. The focus of the plan emphasizes land use, transportation, education, parks and trails, development patterns, housing types, infrastructure, and economic development. An initial public survey was launched in late 2023 for the community to share their priorities for Nixa’s future.

Based on that input, we are now ready to share initial ideas for the comprehensive plan. The public is invited to join a virtual open house that will be open starting March 13 through March 25. The public can view initial ideas and share their thoughts by visiting Nixa2045.com. The community is also invited to join in an interactive pop-up event at the Nixpo Business Showcase on March 16 from 9 am to 3 pm at Nixa High School located at 514 S. Nicholas Rd. The public will be asked to review initial ideas generated from a stakeholder workshop and survey response input.

Extensive community outreach opportunities have been held throughout the process, including the public survey, visioning workshops, and a planning and design charrette – a multi-day community engagement event where stakeholders and decision makers work alongside experts to co-develop solutions to build environment problems using design.
